How To Diagnos CIPA?

The diagnosis of Congenital Insensitivity to Pain with Anhidrosis (CIPA)
is made clinically based on presence of the following:

• Recurrent fever and biting of the tongue, lips, or fingers
  after eruption of the first teeth in infants and children.


• Repeated traumatic injuries including bruising,
  bone fractures and painless joint dislocations in older individuals.


• Anhidrosis (absence of sweating), manifest as
  recurrent febrile episodes beginning in early infancy.


• Intellectual disability.
